Isn't it interesting that two days after World Mental Health Day, we have the Melbourne Marathon? It is probably just a coincidence, however, it is amazing how many people running has helped and improved their mental health. I have heard so many stories of how people run to help them clear their head after a hard day or start the morning with exercise and fresh air. I personally have gone through periods of running a lot, but recently have really been avoiding it. At the moment I've found it harder than ever to enjoy running, but I know that with my return to footy on the horizon that I need to get back into it. That is why I'll be aiming to get to Folk on The Move every second Sunday from now!

Perfect Post-Run Recovery

Eden has been running the Folk on the Move which started as a collaboration between Commonfolk, STRONG Morning and Recovery Lab Mornington. I've been a bit slack with my attendance since coming back from holiday, so it's time to commit. Eden runs 2.5km and 5km courses which people can choose to walk or run. If you are interested in trying to start to run again, come join me! You can follow Folk on the Move on Instagram here.

To support my wellbeing and in the spirit of getting comfortable being uncomfortable - I am challenging myself to try new things!

Putting yourself into uncomfortable situations by trying new things allows us to continue to grow and learn. I've decided to start this journey by doing my first introduction dancing course at Dance Heels Up. I've always wanted to go to a dance class after I realised how much joy dancing gives me, however I'm a complete beginner which has always made me second guess if I should do it. Next week I start and even though I'm super nervous, I'm also really excited.

Been enjoying the gym but time to Dance!

What is something big or small you have always wanted to try but anxiety is getting in the way? Maybe it's the ice bath? My challenge to you is to try something this week that you haven't done before - whether that's at Recovery Lab Mornington or else where. Send me through what you achieve and I can showcase it next week!

To help you with your challenge - whether it's trying a new exercise class, going to an event alone or doing your first ice bath - here is some motivation. Send me through what you did this week for the first time and I'll add a FREE Contrast Experience to your Recovery Lab Account. This way you can share your experience and bring someone along to try Recovery Lab for their first time! You can send it to 0499 924 909 or email us at mornington@recoverylab.com.au

See you at the Lab!
