A Weekly Update by Zahli, Studio Manager

Hot & Cold Baths!
Hot & Cold Baths!

I want to start my weekly wrap-up with a big thank you to everyone who read and messaged me about my post about my mental health story. I appreciate all the messages and lovely comments, I'm glad its had even a small impact on people and they way they think about mental health this month.

This week I decided that next year I will get back into playing footy - but I'm gonna start now. I've been searching for something to have to train for, something external to motivate me to exercise and eat better. I started playing footy when I was 13 after watching my sister play in the inaugural junior girls footy team at Mount Eliza. I have played on and off since then. My skills haven't really improved and my fitness has currently hit an all time low. I watched my partner, Ewan, play soccer nearly every week and it made me miss the competition and the camaraderie amongst a team. Yet, I am sad to potentially now miss his games because of potential clashes, especially now that I've finally learnt the rules of soccer.

I've joined my local club, which has already started a pre-pre season challenge that I absolutely love. It's not just about improving your fitness, but living your life to the fullest and doing that with mates. You can gain points by going for a run, or learning something new, or even going to a concert! It embraces the idea of holistic wellness - that it's not just about the physical body but your emotional and mental wellbeing. If I needed a sign that I made the right choice about joining that club or getting back into footy at all, I think I found it.

Speaking of holistic wellbeing, make sure to get your tickets for Party @ The Lab! It's gonna be a super fun night of saunas, ice baths and music for only $15! I am

really passionate about this event and the positive impact it could have. There are so many amazing benefits, and I really hope to see people get out of their comfort zone. If you have any questions, queries at all - please send through your messages to me and the Recovery Lab team at 0499 924 909. For all ages, all genders and all mover-and-shakers.

Finally, just a reminder that we'll no longer be providing towels. Towels will be available to hire if you forget one, but please bring at least one to sit on in the sauna - or bring a second for the shower after. We are also currently hiring, so if you are interested in being part of our team check out the link below!

See you in the Lab!
